The mycarinspectors.com website, its subdomains and the app of the same name (the “Site”), are operated by My Car Inspectors Limited (“My Car Inspectors”, “we” or “us”). My Car Inspectors Limited is the data controller of the personal information collected via or in connection with the Site.

1. Information we may collect from you through the Site

1.1.1 When you register on our Site, we collect the information provided by you. If you are a Mechanic, we may collect information you provide to us during the approval process. This information may be provided by phone or email. For Mechanics this information includes your name, full address (personal or business), telephone number, email address, passport and driving licence information, proof of address, further details of your business and work history including necessary permits, licences and/or insurances. For customers this information includes your name, address, vehicle details and payment card information.
1.1.2 We collect data on your use of our Platform, including vehicle inspection services placed or accepted by you, searches you have made, and quotes you have received.
1.1.3 We collect data on your marketing and communication preferences.
1.1.4 We keep records of your correspondence with us, if you have contacted us.
1.1.5 We collect data on information collected automatically using cookies and other tracking technologies, such as details of the web pages you have visited on our Site, the content that you access, your IP address, browser and device information.
2. How do we use your information?
2.1 Depending on how you use our Site, your interactions with us and the reasons for which you provide your information, we will use your personal information for the following purposes:
2.1.1 To ensure that the Site is presented to you in an effective manner.
2.1.2 To operate our Platform, including verifying your identity, making bookings and taking payments.
2.1.3 To manage our relationship with you, including sending you marketing communications.
2.1.4 To deliver relevant advertisements to you and to measure the delivery of those advertisements.

4. Sharing your personal information
4.1 If you are a Mechanic, we will share your information with customers.
4.2 If you are a customer, we will share information about you (name, vehicle location, vehicle registration number, telephone number, and services you require) with the Mechanics that you select.
4.3 For both Mechanics and customers, by providing us with registration information you agree to the sharing of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.
4.4 We generally do not share personal information collected via the Site with other parties. However personal information may be shared with other parties where one of the following circumstances applies:
4.4.1 You have consented to us doing so.
4.4.2 We are under a legal, regulatory or professional obligation to disclose your personal information, or in order to enforce or apply our Site Terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our company, our customers or others.
4.4.3 Our company, or substantially all our company’s assets are merged or acquired by a third party, in which case your personal information may form part of the transferred or merged assets.
4.4.4 To provide anonymous statistical information about users of the Site and related usage information to reputable third parties.
4.4.5 We are using a third party service provider to provide services that involve data processing (for example, hosting the Site or providing payment services).

5.1 The Site may contain links to third party apps/websites, including options to share content you have read on third party apps/websites, for example, on Facebook or Twitter. 6. How long do we store your personal information
6.1 We will keep your personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes set out above. This period will vary depending on the nature of your interactions with us.
6.2 Where we no longer have a need to keep your information, we will delete or anonymise it. Please note that where you unsubscribe or opt out from a marketing communication, we need to keep a record of your email address to ensure we do not send you marketing emails in the future.

8.3 Any request to exercise one of these rights will be assessed by us on a case-by-case basis. There may be circumstances in which we are not legally required to comply with your request because of relevant legal exemptions provided for in applicable data protection legislation.
8.4 You may also have the right to contact the relevant data protection authority (the Information Commission’s Office) if you think we have processed your personal information in a manner which is unlawful or breaches your rights.
